Spoilers.

O.O.... Uuuh........I've never been so creeped out in my entire life......... Not only does it show death in space which I find terrifying already...... but it was all caused by a self aware AI, HAL 9000, all while staying monotone. Goes to show.... we shouldn't go to far with our technology........ Else it will be our downfall.

However HAL's Death is by far the saddest and scariest thing I saw.... Not only does he (monotonely) outright say he is afraid and pleads Dave to stop killing him, he's watching him kill him, and he can actually feel all of his knowledge and programming go away. Imagine him being human. That's just downright terrifying and sad.

And to be fair, (according to the all of the stuff they never explain in the film) he was told to keep a secret, when his sole purpose in his life is to provide humans with the truth and facts. When you tell a computer who cannot lie, to keep a secret, it goes against their programming, it makes them afraid of what could happen if they go against their values. So he freaks out and does drastic measures and...does what I said in the first paragraph.. He's a misunderstood villain

All in all, the film was freaking creepy, kinda boring I'm not going to lie, but mostly creepy.Mostly because without the internet, I don't know what the heck's going on. That and the scenes are played out much slower than they should be. Then again this is a Stanley Kubrick film.

And I know that the book explains a whole lot more than the movie does.

It must have been really good during it's time, being a film in the 60s. It was played out really well, and back then it's effects must have been really big.

But I am legitimately horrified and now I must watch something up lifting.
